Shipping Times and Policies

Q: How soon can I get my order and can I delay shipping?

A:  We process within one day and ship out the next business day from our warehouse/office in California. Items are shipped using whichever method you choose. When using USPS Priority Mail, those orders generally arrive within 2-3 business days (after one day of processing) within the U.S. and 6-10 business days outside of the U.S. UPS Orders (see map) will arrive within 1-6 business days after shipping within the U.S.. You can also delay the shipping of an item by filling in the Ship To Date field. For example, if you want a gift item sent to someone for Valentine's Day - instead of them receiving it weeks before the special occasion.


Q: How safely is the item packaged?

A:  Each item is hand packed and fragile item are over-wrapped in bubble paper. Since we shipped out our first item in April, 2006, we have not had even one occurrence of breakage (and only three returns).


Q: I want to keep this gift as a surprise. Is the box plain or will he/she know that it is coming from Romantic Room Designs/Creative Romantic Gifts?

A:  Our shipping boxes are unmarked but the postage slip does include our company name in the return address. Just let us know in the comments section and we can delete our company name from the shipping label.


Q: How much does shipping cost?

A:  For most of our gift items, shipping USPS Priority Mail is the quickest and least expensive option with some items shipping for as little as $5.00. We do not pad our shipping fees or charge a handling fee - you are charged what we are charged.

 

Q: What if my item arrives late?

A: We ship out every item in a timely manner. There will be situations where things are out of our control (severe weather that hampers transportation in major places around the country, acts of God etc...where even UPS and Fed-Ex may deliver past their guaranteed times because, simply, their planes cannot get off the ground). In that event, and only in that event, your package - just like with any business, could arrive late. Since we started in 2006 (and through the end of 2011), we have only had 2 instances where packages arrived late (both were weather related and being sent to addresses in very rural parts of the country). We do not refund purchases if they arrive late for reasons beyond our control (including if we have been supplied with an incorrect address)


Q: What is your return policy?

A:  We take extra special care in shipping out your gift boxes. However, the delivery is not always perfect. Claims on any damaged goods must be made within (7) days of receipt of goods. Authorized returns by Romantic Room Designs must be sent back to Romantic Room Designs at 5015 Beachwood Drive, Seaside, CA 93955, for product replacement only. We will provide you with a prepaid USPS mailing label. Please contact us at sales@romanticroomdesigns.com to initiate a return. If you simply do not like your item, gift items can be returned with a 20% restocking/labor fee (since most are personalized and cannot be reused)


Q:  What is your product substitution policy?

A: In the rare instance when demand outstrips supply of a particular item, we will replace it with one of equal or greater value at no additional charge. Of course, this would only be applicable if you were ordering a Romance In A Box product including several romantic gift items. If you order a single item, such as a Key to My Heart Gift, we will notify you in advance if that product is not available (rarely happens – and only if our supplier was unable to fulfill our order).


Q:  Where does Romance Inside A Box and your gift items ship?

A:  We ship our Romance Inside A Box products throughout the U.S. and Canada. Romantic gift items are shipped worldwide unless prohibited for any reason in your country.

 

Q: What if I want to change the shipping address after I have placed my order?

A: As long as it has not yet shipped, you can contact us to change your shipping information. Once an item is shipped, it cannot be re-routed and will be delivered to the address placed in your shipping address form.

 

Q: What if my item does not arrive on time?

A: If using UPS, please contact us. If using USPS, their priority mail is a 2 - 3 business day average (which it normally has arrived within that period about 99+% of the time.) However, it is not a 100% guarantee. With Overnight/Express, they guarantee a 1 - 2 business day for sure. Keep in mind we need one day to process your order (unless you call us and we can expedite). If USPS delivers in more than 3 business days, in the past 4 years it has been because (1) delivery to a rural area or (2) due to acts of God (major winter storms, hurricanes and the like). For UPS, keep in mind that they do not deliver on Saturday or Sunday (unless you choose to ship via UPS next day air with Saturday delivery). For International Orders, it takes longer and is dependent on customs and how quickly they expedite (for example, for Canada they quote 6-10 business days but typically it has been an average of just 5 business days).


Q: What is your cancellation policy on orders?

A: For Romance Inside A Box and gift items, once the order is placed it is final (since it is processed almost immediately).
